Nestlé GOOD START® with Omega-3 & Omega-6 (20 kcal/30 ml) is a well-tolerated, nutritionally complete, iron fortified, cow’s milk-based infant formula containing 100% whey protein and enhanced with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA). Unlike whole cow’s milk protein infant formula, the 100% whey protein in GOOD START® is partially hydrolyzed by an exclusive process, making it easier to digest.  GOOD START® has a gastric emptying time similar to that of breast milk, and results in a soft stool consistency.  In addition, GOOD START® has been clinically shown to reduce the risk of developing allergic symptoms, in at-risk babies, compared to whole cow's milk protein infant formula. The long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, DHA and ARA in GOOD START® with Omega-3 & Omega-6 infant formula, have been added at levels similar to those recommended by the World Health Organization.  GOOD START® with Omega-3 & Omega-6 infant formula is suitable for routine feeding of infants from birth to 12 months of age, if breast-feeding is not chosen and/or an infant formula is required.

Indications

Nestlé Baby Formula – GOOD START® with Omega-3 & Omega-6 is indicated for routine feeding of infants from birth to 12 months of age, if breast-feeding is not chosen and/or an infant formula is required. It is for use exclusively from birth or as a complement to breast-feeding to help reduce the risk of allergy in those with a family history of allergy.

Contraindications

GOOD START® with Omega-3 & Omega-6 is not suitable for use where there is a risk of severe allergic reaction to cow’s milk protein, or in cases of severe acute or chronic diarrhea with gastrointestinal damage when a special therapeutic formula would be indicated. Also not suitable for infants with galactosemia or low birth weight (less than 2500g).
